1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing .

Plus, my brother & DSIL will be home by the time of our possible Rapture date (posted by Calvin, on his today's post). The Lord whispered in my ear that I might not be home when they return home from their disasterous summer vacation, on either 9/29/2011 or 10/01/2011.
How sad for all our unsaved love ones, when we're gone, eh!?

My brother suffered from a double stroke; had to be hospitalized until he recovered, had surgery to correct blood flow to his brain & from his heart...plus, he had pneumonia to boot. So now, he's well on the mend, and is able to come home to Lake Havasu, AZ, on my above posted date(s).
I that wasn't a disasterous vacation...I don't know what!?! Eh!?!

It certainly is. Hey, He could come for us tonight, and that would be more than fine with me! 
And on that note, I think I'll share a request I made of God last night. The difference between children looking forward to Christmas and us is that children know when Christmas is going to come, and so they can count down to the night before, knowing that Santa is going to come that night (those who are young enough to believe in Santa, that is.) =) And then, of course, come bedtime on Christmas Eve, they have a hard time getting to sleep because they're so eager and excited. But we don't have that advantage with the Rapture, because God hasn't told us when it's going to happen--only that it's almost here. But we don't know when "almost here" is! We don't know what date to mark on our calendars. So it's impossible for us to count down to that day, to that moment, and be looking forward to it as we watch that date approaching, because God has kept it His secret.
I have asked God to please tell us the date no later than on the date when it's scheduled to take place--preferably before that date--and I've told Him why. There are 2 reasons in my case: first, I want to have the privilege and pleasure that a child anticipating Christmas has, and I pray that God will grant it to me. When it's literally just days away, I want to be able to count down to it and look forward to it as it approaches. Second, there are some last-minute preparations I want to make on the day itself, when it does arrive--preparations I can only make if I can know the day on which it's going to happen. When that day does arrive, I want to take my left-behind package out of the cardboard box next to my bed and lay it on the desk where my computer is. That way, it'll be where everybody who comes into my room can find it after I'm gone. Since it's a good bet, sad to say, that at least some of my relatives will be left behind (and I wish that wasn't the case), I want them to be able to find it easily. I see no use in taking it out of the box days or weeks in advance; that would be pointless. I want to take it out on the day itself. (Or before I go to bed, if the Rapture is going to occur during the wee hours of the night.)
Anyway, that's what I'm praying and petitioning God for. I petitioned Him for it last night, and I pray that His answer will be yes.

Is that common? I knew there was a break before school started but a break for comet flyby's

I'm cynical. I think it is because Congress doesn't want to be around when the UN voting about Israel/Palestine comes up. Congress is supposed to be consulted before war
If Congress is on recess, then they cannot be consulted to defend Israel. Convenient to look the other way if Israel is attacked, isn't it?
Amos 9:9-15 NIV
