I purchased a collapsed shed find rusty wreck a few years ago, should have left it there but thought its either me or another for
the melting pot. Rigid frame girder forks mag in front of engine four digit frame no then under black paint traces of maroon dark green and yellow. This was getting interesting WD?. I purchased a copy of the Orchard Madden bible, very impressive. The main frame no is AJS40/16m the rear frame is 4 digit G3 contract C5247 late 1939, engine is also 4 digit G3 1939 same contract an interesting bitsa. The engine no is stamped into casing with 2 small rivet holes above, no brass id plate or other information crank case halves match. I hope this is of interest, look forward to comments.
I’m having a life laundry and have unearthed an AJS 5 inch front wheel hub for one of these, which is different from the Matchless type. Also a twin port head, a drive side crankcase for a Model 26 and what I think is probably a lightweight set of girder fork blades. All available if someone is looking for these hard to find parts. JT
Hi is your AJS a twin port ? Mine is a model 26 also AJS twin port 350 and has the two small holes for a plate on the crankcase cannot post a photo here but Ron knows how andrew
