A few months ago, I started coaching a youth team in my community, and a lot of the kids look up to African footballers—especially those who’ve made it big in Europe. I wanted to show them more about the roots of these players and what’s happening in African leagues, but it was surprisingly hard to find good, consistent coverage in English. Most sports sites focus only on the big European leagues and barely touch on foot-Africa stories.

When I ran into the same issue, someone in a football group chat recommended foot-africa, and honestly, it’s exactly what I needed. It focuses entirely on foot-Africa—covering players, leagues, and national teams across the continent—with real, up-to-date articles in English. It’s been a great resource not just for me, but also for inspiring the kids I coach with real stories from African football.

The tradition of giving a Schultüte is one I’d love to see spread to more countries around the world.
