So I guess The Strokes had no role in shaping rock and roll? A little surprising since most alt rock bands spent the past decade trying to copy that sound (read: Killers, Arctic Monkeys).
Actually from the looks of it, rock died some time in the 90s and then hip hop (if you consider Hey Ya hip hop) took over for good. I guess no one let me in on this.
outlet- The Strokes get a decent amount of accolades. :)
Great find, JR. Do you know if it is new or if it was presented a few years ago? The latest songs are from 2006.
I think it would be reasonable that the update consisted of primarily post-1994 songs, but no, only 18 songs are from 1994-2006... In fact, any other 13-year period since the '40s-'50s has more songs included among the "new" songs.
just announced this. Perhaps it would be a tad soon to say songs from 2007-present have "shaped rock"? Just a theory.
I like that they added older "new" tracks. Like I said, all others look in tact, except for that Dina Washington instance.
And thanks, Henrik. :)
I erroneously listed "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" as a new addition, but it was on the older one, too.
