Good stuff. You hardly ever see "Jockey Full of Bourbon," "You Made Me Realize," or "Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos" on songs lists. I thought "Once in a Lifetime" would have been a surefire top 10 pick.
"Love Will Tear Us Apart" or one of the big Smiths songs is my guess for the top spot.
Great top 20! Good to see all New Order's big 5 singles crack the top 50(as they should). Great to see a largely alternative list rate 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' highly. As for the Cure,I think In Between Days should be swapped with Just Like Heaven on the list. A deserved #1 though...

I'm thrilled that "A Forest" placed so well! I wish "Lovesong" had made it in, too. Overall, it's a pretty nice list.
Not as much variety here, but these are great songs.

01. Joy Division - "Love Will Tear Us Apart"
I think I got them all- 44 acts have multiple entries on this list- and they account for 119 of the 200- a whopping 59.5% of the list.
If we combined Joy Division/New order, that would give that entity eight tracks. And, adding Morrissey to The Smiths would give that entity seven.

I was surprised to see this song is not even bubbling under. If this list is included in the next update, what are the chances it is bubbling under/in the top 3000?

Strangely, this song has only been included in the Pitchfork 500 and now this list, so I still don't think that warrants an inclusion at AM...

you are correct, RBob. Must have thought I had all entries and neglected to include one for each. Thanks for checking that. :)
So, that makes 44 acts that account for 121 of the top 200- 60.5% of the list.
And in AM top 200 of the 80s, 33 artists count for exactly 50% of the songs (considering that Grandmaster Flash counts for one whether he is with Melle Mel or the Furious Five)
I'm surprised the Cure only have one song in AM top 200 of the 80s.
