Hi Henrik, I know you must be terribly busy with the update but knowing that it will be too late anyway for this 2010 inclusion, I thought it would be a good idea to post you the link to this magnificent piece of pop chronicles that would go hand in hand with your work...I can imagine all of you guys browsing on AM and reading the article describing the song on 1001...under your Xmas trees. It's a bit heavy to put in your stockings but well, here it is: THE 1001 SONGS YOU MUST HEAR BEFORE YOU DIE!!! So I went on amazon.co.uk to order it and flicked through the "Look Inside" section to see the index. And you know what I discovered? Robert Dimery listed the 10 001 songs (yes ten thousand and one!!!) that you'll have to listen to create the ultimate playlist...What do you think of that...That should keep US busy for a while...? I said us because I'm sure many helpers and I (your army) will volunteer to help you out including all of these and maybe one day,in 10 years or so, we'll see an AM 5000...Tell me what you think buddy...

O dear! I'm busy at work but can't take my eyes off that index! It's not just a mammoth of a list, but the selections are awesome, they haven't been afraid to put a lot of recent stuff next to the old classics. And they didn't include Stairway to Heaven and I Want to Hold Your Hand even among the 10,001, so apparently they didn't feel that they had to include the canon, which is refreshing. Woohoo!

There is also a flamenco song: Camarón, sung by Pata Negra (it is a good representation of Spanish music, much better than "Dale a tu cuerpo alegría, Macarena," which was the only Spanish song that was on AM until recently).

The first seven (O sole mio, St. Louis Blues, Allons a Lafayette, Lágrimas Negras, Pokarekare Ana, Saint James Infirmary, El Manisero)) are wonderful.
