Who made this list?
well here's what the myspace staff had to say "The drama. The tears. The bloodshed. What? No, we're not talking about New Moon. What we're referring to is the seemingly endless meetings that happened at MySpace Music to determine The 50 Best Albums and 30 Best Videos of 2009, both of which we will be revealed in our mammoth "Year In Music" feature over the next two weeks. During all of our deliberating, the one thing that stood out was not the bands that made this list, but those who didn't. Because that meant that there was so much good music that came out in 2009 that it was hard to narrow it down to this many artists. So then, if any of your crotchety old friends say to you, "Dude, there aren't any good bands anymore," then consider this at least one way to prove them wrong."
I'm going to toss this one to Henrik for an eligibility verdict.
I have a feeling that myspace.com's alexa ranking is pretty high. Surprisingly good list considering how bad the site is for social networking.
I don't see any reasons not to include it.
However, I suppose (most of) these staff members work with other things than music reviews. In the last site update I started to give such sources a somewhat lower weight. In the spreadsheet I think it could have the normal weight though.
