05. The Usual Suspects (Bryan Singer) 25
The Usual Suspects is 1995. I would just push up everyone one rank, but you've submitted some different points for 3-5 so please let me know what you want to do.

Also, shame my second favorite film of all time, Léon, does not seem to be doing very well.

Re: Films of the '90s: 1994

Leon's probably going to get 25 points from me, so with your 50 that brings it to 93. That should push it close to the top ten, if not in.

I'm more concerned about Chungking Express, which also seems not to have a lot of support yet. I'm hoping Petri gives it a lot of points because he gave a lot to Days Of Being Wild.

Re: Films of the '90s: 1994

Ugh. This is effing stupid. The copy of Faust Netflix sent me has an english dub track and no option for subtitles. I'm not even watching the real movie.

Re: Films of the '90s: 1994

Satantango
Pulp Fiction
Chungking Express
Three Colors: Red
Leon
The Lion King
Riget
Three Colors: White
To Live
Clerks
The Shawshank Redemption
Faust
Crumb (5 points)
Four Weddings and a Funeral (3 points)

The only other film I was thinking of watching is Heavenly Creatures, and I figure, it's an American Oscar winner by Peter Jackson, if it's any good all you will vote for it and I can watch it when it qualifies.

You're absolutely right.

You can push up the rest of the list. Number five still get 25 point and the rest is the same as the fedault points.

Re: Films of the '90s: 1994

Damn, I noticed these year-by-year movie polls just recently, I usually only go to the music part of the forum.
First, let me inform you that I'm not very much of a movie expert, my tastes in film run amok all over the place: Hollywood blockbusters, art house flicks, cult films, documentaries (not sure if those are allowed). In short, a bit like my music preferences, the weird and the mainstream go hand in hand.
I can't promise my participation for every year and I just don't have the time to check out all those wonderful titles in you guys' lists that I'm not familiar with, but anyway, here's my shot at 1994:

01. The Shawshank Redemption
02. Once Were Warriors
03. Interview With The Vampire
04. Crumb
05. The Mask
06. Natural Born Killers
07. The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert
08. Pulp Fiction
09. Heavenly Creatures
10. Hated

Once Were Warriors is in IMO the wild card of this year. Definitely worth checking out for those who haven't seen it yet. On me at least, this New Zealand movie left a pretty big and lasting impression.

Re: Films of the '90s: 1994

I saw three colours trilogy when I was too young. I liked white (and blue which I saw also later) but red mostly bored me. I try to watch the whole trilogy again before the final (although if only Blue would qualify). I saw Double Life of Veronique few years later (in the beginning of 00's when I was in my late teens) and loved it a lot.
Eat Drink Man Woman is the only movie I've seen my first time in 00's.

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Natural Born Killers
3. The Hudsucker Proxy
4. Léon [Leon: The Professional]
5. The Crow
6. Priest
7. 重慶森林 [Chungking Express]
8. Ed Wood
9. 飲食男女 [Eat Drink Man Woman]
10. Shallow Grave
11. Il postino [The Postman]
12. Crumb
13. The Shawshank Redemption
14. Trois couleurs: Blanc [Three Colours: White]
15. Forrest Gump
16. Once Were Warriors
17. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
18. Heavenly Creatures
19. Speed
20. Fresh

Re: Films of the '90s: 1994

Pulp Fiction wins 1994 with a record amount of voters, #1's and points. The competition for the 9th and 10th spot was quite close, but Satantango and Crumb held on to their early lead and Natural Born Killers and Hoop Dreams didn't quite make it.

1. Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino) - 506/12/7
2. The Shawshank Redemption (Frank Darabont) - 257/11/1
