There's a Greek book called Songs of the Century (that is an critics/industry list) that includes 2,000+ songs, but haven't been successful in obtaining a copy as of yet. I don't think that one ranks titles, though, so it's ambitious to go ahead and rank. :)

If this is Eric's personal list, it's pretty decent. But I'd still say he needs to do a little pre-rock listening.
And certainly add some country in there, too, as one of the 4 streams that led to rock.

Anyway, it's inspired me to work on a full-on 2000 myself...would love to see others...
