I'm presuming that we're to send our top 100 list to your GoogleMail address referenced in the "I'm With Stupid" post (jadepalooka@googlemail.com) - correct? Also, what's the submission deadline? Thanks.
"Is there any risk of brain damage?"
"Well...technically, the procedure IS brain damage. But it's on a par with a night of heavy drinking - nothing you'll miss."
- A dialogue exchange from a recent film that will rank very high on my list...

If that's from the movie I think it is, it's one I really need to see.
I'll get my list in, but not immediately. When's the deadline?
I need to look into Netflix and catch up on the classics.
Saw an excellent movie I'll squeeze into my list yesterday. Los Olvidados (The Forgotten Ones) is a Mexican movie from the 50s, made by Luis Bunuel. Excellent in every way, and if you can stand black/white movies (and foreign language) it is highly recommended.
Has anyone sent in comments? I've got my list ready to go, but I haven't included comments. However, if nobody else is doing them, I'll just go ahead and send my list!

My list only needs some cosmetic work, and then it'll be finished. I'll probably send it in tomorrow, but I'm watching Blackboard Jungle tonight, and who knows, it might get includede. Brüno, which I saw yesterday, won't.
Didn't see it. My wife wanted to see Mar Adentro (The Sea inside in english) instead and it won't be in my top 100 because it is not a great movie, despite Javier Bardem who is a chameleon-actor.
But Night of the Hunter is great. I saw it but so long ago that it's hard for me to rank it.
I also sent my list.
Two movies from 1931 in my top 15
Night of the Hunter is great but didn't have place in my top 100.
And yesterday I watched Duck Soup (surprisingly not in my list. I picked other Marx bros movies). I have watched within a year 262 movies.
I did also a movie list by year. It's here. It won't spoil hardly anything because there are many years with 0 picks in my top 100 and actually some movies are higher in my top 100 list than those I chose the best two weeks ago.
It's way harder to be confident in a best movie list than a best album list. You see most movies once or twice, maybe several times for your all time favorites, whereas you listen to albums dozens of times. Plus, I've heard way more of the most acclaimed albums than most acclaimed moves, so I found myself really reaching by the time I got all the way down to 100. I included a few things I loved when I was younger but wouldn't rate as high now, giving them points for lifetime total of entertainment rather than coincidence with current tastes.
Then there were a lot of movies where I thought "This is good...but do I really want to give it points when people here have seen more movies than me?"
Maybe what I'll do is take the top 200 on TSPDT, and pick one random one to watch a week, maybe using Netflix or something.
I've voted for a couple of the classic westerns. And Woody Allen too.
Couldn't find Rebecca last night, so I watched Tucker: The Man and His Dream. Even though Francis Ford Coppola directed it, it's by no means worth watching. Overacted.
i just sent my top 50 a minute ago, it was a lot harder than i thought it would be.

I'm hoping that somebody found a way to vote for Raising Arizona.
It came close, but I ended up only putting two Coen Bros. films on my list. Weird, because I'm a huge fan, but there were so many other movies I wanted to include. If I expanded my list to 200, there would be seven.

I didn't submit a list, but it would have included 2-5 Coen Brothers movies: Raising Arizona and The Big Lebowski would be locks. Other strong contenders would be Miller's Crossing, O Brother, and Fargo.
I got three Coen movies as well. And, yes, the individual lists are what I'm really looking forward to. I believe you can learn a lot about a person from looking at them.
Looking through my movie collection I found I forgot to vote for Full Moon High. Dang!
