Y2KROQ

The L.A. based radio station KROQ has released an end of decade list; Y2KROQ, the Top 200 Songs of the Century. (I'm assuming they mean so far.)

It's mostly rock songs that received radio play, which means it's not exactly a great list. However, there are some hidden gems in there IMO.

Is this eligible? I will type out the full thing if so.

To see the list go their homepage, http://www.kroq.com/, then click music and there is a link to the list.

The top 10 and some others...

1.) Foo Fighters - The Pretender
2.) The Killer - Mr. Brightside
3.) Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams
4.) Linkin Park - In the End
5.) Muse - Starlight
6.) Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California
7.) Coldplay - Clocks
8.) Papa Roach - Last Resort
9.) Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc.
10.) System of a Down - Chop Suey!
14.) The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
18.) Rise Against - Prayer of the Refugee

Re: Y2KROQ

Presence of Linkin Park kills it.

Re: Y2KROQ

what a crock of shit

Re: Y2KROQ

They need to be called KKOQ instead of KROQ because all they play is cockrock. When Rodney Bingenheimer practically owned KROQ in the 70s and early 90s not only did he break new acts like Radiohead on his show, he actually played some of the bigger female alternative acts like PJ Harvey, Sleater Kinney, Hole, the Breeders, L7 and Garbage which is where they started gaining big followings. Than Kevin Weatherly took over and took away Rodney's hours and now we have this generic crap, a lot of which features bands that are 10 years past their prime. They should be looking for new acts like the ones Rodney plays on his shows but they wanted to play emo and nu metal both of when have died out. Still I perfer this stuff over Richard Blade's 80s synth rock.
