As you might imagine, Tom Moon's 2008 book 1000 RECORDINGS TO HEAR BEFORE YOU DIE contains a large number of albums from the current Acclaimed Music top 3000 - over 400, in fact. I may compile and post those when I get the chance (the entire list is accessible at http://www.1000recordings.com), but I'd like to use this thread to focus on eligible albums from the list that are NOT in the AM 3000 at the moment.

Keep in mind that these lists I've posted only cover albums that would be eligible for inclusion on Acclaimed Music - that means no anthologies and no classical (except for the odd modern-classical piece). As I stated above, the entire list of 1,000 albums can be found on Moon's website at 1000recordings.com.
It seems like most of the stuff that is bubbling under is world music.
Sweet Old World and When The Pawn are in my top 100. I'm shocked either one of those isn't in the AM 3000.
Of course, Rock Steady is the only No Doubt album I don't like. It sounds more like Stefani's solo work. (I hear No Doubt is back together, and it's supposed to be a permanent reunion. Hopefully they go back to what originally made them popular.)
I've become aware of a couple of corrections that need to be made to these lists:
* Propellerheads' DECKSANDDRUMSANDROCKANDROLL is actually in the current AM top 3000, and doesn't belong on the Bubbling Under list.
* As it turns out, BUCKWHEAT'S ZYDECO PARTY by Buckwheat Zydeco, which I put on the AMG 4.5-star list, is actually a compilation album and thus would be ineligible for inclusion here.
HW regrets the errors.
The Dave Van Ronk CD that's included in the book, INSIDE DAVE VAN RONK, actually combines the album of that name and an earlier album, also from 1962, titled DAVE VAN RONK, FOLKSINGER. It's pretty clear that Moon intended the entry to cover -both- albums; in fact, he seems to prefer FOLKSINGER. And FOLKSINGER gets a 5-star rating on AMG. Sorry I didn't catch this before.
Somehow, when I compiled these lists I managed to make a particularly egregious error and leave out one of the entries that's currently on the Bubbling Under list. Allow me to correct that:
Charlie Rich: Behind Closed Doors - 1973
