Great Rythem Sections

I read somewhere (maybe here?) that someone thought Moon/Entwistle was the greatest rythem section of all time. I thought about this, and I probably agree. Who do you guys think are other great rythem sections? My T3 would probably be

1. Moon/Entwistle
2. Bonham/Paul Jones
3. Morris/Hook

baker/bruce deserves mention

Re: Great Rhythm Sections

No your mainstream rocn'roll act, but I guess many would credit Sly and Robbie.

Re: Great Rhythm Sections

What about James Jamerson and Benny Benjamin?

Re: Great Rythem Sections

I guess I have to agree with Moonie and Entwhistle on this one. I thought immediately of Butler/Ward, and, I think Starr/McCartney are underrated (when was the last time anyone said that about the Beatles?) as a tandem.

Re: Great Rythem Sections

I've certainly mentioned that Moon/Entwistle are the greatest rhythm section, so that's clearly my opinion.

Re: Great Rythem Sections

I was going to bring up Starr/McCartney (mainly on the strnegth of paul's masterful basslines) but I decided that I should at least try to keep the Beatles out of this one.

Also Jamerson/Benjamin are one of the best. I certainly think James might be the first or second best bassist.

Re: Great Rythem Sections

While I can't say what section is the greatest, I really dig these two:

Clyde Stubblefield/Bootsy Collins
Mitch Mitchell/Noel Redding
