1. The Kinks (all time rank #40)
2. Creedence Clearwater Revival (all time rank #41)
3. The Byrds (all time rank #50)
4. The Zombies (nowhere near my top 100. maybe in my top 300 or 400)
It seems that I'm always the first to respond to these.
I don't own a single thing by any of these artists (which shows how crass I really am!), but I'd say my level of interest goes thusly:
1. The Kinks -like some of the singles and am intrigued
2. Creedence Clearwater Revival -my parents liked them, so I am familiar with some of it. It can move me when the mood is right.
3. Zombies -the one I know the least. I had trouble finding places to listen to them when I ran the song poll. Any suggestions?
4. The Byrds- not my thing.
1) The Byrds- I'm a big Tom Petty fan so I went backwards from there to the Byrds. Especially love their more country-rock efforts.
2) Creedence Clearwater Revival- Haven't really anything by them yet I don't like. Have CHRONICLE (greatest hits collection) and GREEN RIVER.
3) The Kinks- Liked a Rhino comp I heard and KINKS ARE THE VILLAGE GREEN PRESERVATION SOCIETY. More hit and miss on the other stuff I've heard from them so they're 3rd for now. Learning more of their catalogue might boost them.
4) The Zombies- Last by virtue of near ignorance of their catalogue. Have only heard ODYSSEY AND ORACLE (which I really liked) and the oldies radio singles.
a truly comfy way to get my i-heart-artist list together..
