I'd be happy to take the reins of the 2008/09 album poll, but unfortunately, I'm not sure if my schedule will allow it -- it's been a busy one, and there's no signs of this juggernaut slowing down through the new year. That said... Andre, you get my nomination.

Re: top 10

Let's see...this probably won't be too different from my list from the last poll...

1. The Clash, London Calling
2. R.E.M., Automatic for the People
3. Bob Dylan, Highway 61 Revisited
4. The Beatles, Revolver
5. Pixies, Doolittle
6. Blur, s/t
7. David Bowie, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
8. X, Los Angeles
9. Pretenders, s/t
10. R.E.M., Lifes Rich Pageant

Re: top 10

It would be awesome making another top 100 album poll! This year, mostly because of AM, I've discovered much more new music than in all past years, so my list would be totally different from the last. Though, my top 10 doesn't change as much:

1) The Beatles - The Beatles (White Album)
2) Blur - Parklife
3) The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
4) Oasis - Definitely Maybe
5) R.E.M. - Automatic for the People
6) Prince - Sign O' the Times
7) The Fratellis - Costello Music
8) Elvis Costello - My Aim Is True
9) Graham Coxon - Happiness in Magazines
10) Blur - Modern Life Is Rubbish

Re: top 10

I also think a new poll would be fun, I think my bloody valentine would get a big bump from these top tens I am seeing... I am one who rediscovered them and they moved into my top ten...

Re: top 10

The content of my Top 10 hasn't changed, just the order:

1. The Who - Who's Next
2. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
3. The Clash - London Calling
4. My Morning Jacket - Z
5. Nas - Illmatic (up 2 spots)
6. Television - Marquee Moon (down 1 spot)
7. Blur - Parklife (down 1 spot)
8. Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run (up 1 spot)
9. The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers (up 1 spot)
10. Sunday Drivers - Little Heart Attacks (down 2 spots)

NaS and Bruce are slowly gunning for the top 4, but that top 3 is pretty inflexible.

Re: top 10

Moeboid, around a year ago you were saying that you didn't understand jazz & now you have Bitches Brew at #4. I'm imagining what happened, but it's better to ask.

Re: top 10

That said... Andre, you get my nomination.

Thanks for nominating, Anthony.

And Nicolas, what about you? Since you came with the suggestion to do the albums poll again soon, I think you deserve to have a big say in the moderating role as well.

Maybe you wish to organize it yourself? That would be no problem for me, on the contrary, you're more than welcome to take the lead!

In other words: Nicolas, if you want to setup and moderate the poll yourself, than you're my man. If not, I'll be happy to take the job on me. Either way, this is gonna be fun.

Re: top 10

yes, i remember saying that i don't understand jazz. in fact, i would probably still say that. i don't know why bitches brew is an exception. i was amazed by it from the very start. i think i also understand kind of blue, but it doesn't get to me in the same way... we'll see i guess. like i mentioned in another topic, i'm only young and i've been interested in music for a very short time. that might be why i find it so difficult to make a top 10 list... i just haven't been exposed to anything for long enough. those first two albums are locked in the top 10 though. i can't see that changing.

Re: top 10

I can't really rate my favorite albums, they're all under the same category as my all-time favorites.

So, in no particular order;

Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
Mariah Carey - Butterfly
Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
Stevie Wonder - Innervisions, Songs In The Key of Life
Alanis Morissette - Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie

That's it. Only 6. Those are albums that I feel very close to. I have some other favorites but I don't consider them "special" to me.

Re: top 10

Is there going to be a top 100 albums poll this christmas... that was quite the holiday treat last year I would do it but I am pretty inept and some of the experts on the site seem to be pros.

Re: top 10

1. Radiohead: OK Computer
2. The Beatles: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
3. Bob Dylan: Blonde on Blonde
