...and I'll go first. I decided to assemble the top six records for backstage artists as well, but I wanted to dip down a little further than Sam's top six and acknowledge that he was passionate about the blues long before Elvis darkened the door of Sun Records.

The highest ranked pre-Elvis record produced by Sam? None other than Jackie Brenston's "Rocket 88," sometimes considered to be the elusive "first rock & roll record."
