Now you've seen #65-#11, and the 10 absolute worst disasters of music history remains.
So here's a contest for you. Guess the top 5, and the one who comes closest (or right on) wins a Black Eyed Peas CD.
This contest closes about 24 hours from now.
(Rules: The winner is decided by who gets most correct guesses of the top 5. If there's a draw, then the one with most correct positions among those 5 win. If it still is a draw, I'll figure out something, and if two entries are exactly the same, and they are the winner, both will get a Black Eyed Peas CD. If there's more than two winners, there will be a draw. Anybody can enter the contest, not only those who submitted list. I'm the judge, and the contest closes when I say it closes.)
Good luck!
The Black Eyed Peas cd better be Behind the Front or Bridging the Gap!
1. Toby Keith- Courtesy of the Red White and Blue
2. Celine Dion- My Heart Will Go On
3. Limp Bizkit- Rollin
4. William Hung- She Bangs
5. John Mayer- Your Body is a Wonderland
I totally don't want to win this contest. Personally, I have no idea, but if you guys have all heard "Video Games" by Black Out Band, you'd agree that this is the worst.
since obviously no bad songs were made before 1970, I bet on some dark horses, but here they go:
1. The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins. Leonard Nimoy
2. The Doggie In The Window. Patti Page
3. Witch Doctor. David Seville
4. Kookie, Kookie (Lend Me Your Comb). Eddie Byrnes & Connie Stevens
5. Dig You Later (A Hubba Hubba Hubba). Perry Como & Martha Stewart
(bonus: Long Tall Sally. Paul Anka)
I need to change Your Body is a Wonderland to My Humps. Totally missed that one after considering it for #1.
and I'd like to change the Perry Como "song" to Martian Hop by The Ran-Dells... what nasty ugly funbots..
Crazy Frog ?
Simple Plan ?
Kevin Federline ?
Paris Hilton ?
James Blunt ?
Billy Ray Cirus ?
Ricky Martin ?
Nickelback ?
Daniel Powter ?
Jordy ?
Vanilla Ice ?
Paula Abdul ?
Aqua ?
Just writing these few words makes me vomit !
yawn...
I'm not sure if I want any Black Eyed Peys album. But here is my guess nevertheless.
1. Nickelback - How You Remind Me
2. Limp Bizkit - Rollin'
3. Crazy Frog - Axel F
4. Black Eyed Peys - My Humbs
5. The Offspring - Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)
If I win, could I rather be rewarded by you demolishing a Black Eyed Peas CD instead? Maybe on video?
Here's my guess:
5. Morris Albert- Feelings
4. Rick Dees and His Cast of Idiots- Disco Duck
3. Right Said Fred- I'm Too Sexy
2. Limp Bizkit- Rollin'
1. Black Eyed Peas- My Humps
Disco Duck! Disco Duck!!
I actually don't hate songs 3 and 4, but I think a lot of people do! "Disco Duck" is fabulously terrible! Care to dance, nj?
I have to say My Humps is far from the worst B.E.P./ Fergie song. It's not good but I don't think it's awful. It doesn't even touch Fergilicious or Where is the Love.
I think you'll find that you're in the minority there, John! Yes, Fugly and the BEP's are the geniuses of banality, and each successive single seemed to raise the bar for sheer awfulness, peaking for me (and many others, it seems) with the inexplicably yet hilariously atrocious "My Humps".
I hate "Fergalicious" because it totally bites JJ Fad's "Supersonic" from 1988 without so much as a credit, as far as I'm aware. Not that JJ Fad is something to write home about (they are definitely a guilty pleasure of mine), but the influence is undeniable. Check it out:
I'm 99 percent sure it's credited on the CD that she samples (samples... more like parodies) Supersonic. I think the beef was that she didn't ever talk about it in interviews, but the credit was given in the liners.
1. Black Eyed Peas – My Humps
2. Celine Dion – My Heart Will Go On
3. Nickelback – How You Remind Me
4. Billy Ray Cyrus – Achy Breaky Heart
5. Limp Bizkit – Rollin’
Well, all the songs I was gonna put on my list already have been said... let's try anyway
1. Limp Bizkit - Rollin'
2. Celine Dion – My Heart Will Go On
3. Black Eyed Peas - My Humps
4. Billy Ray Cyrus – Achy Breaky Heart
5. Crazy Frog - Axel F
It became a much more serious attempt at this than I planned (as I don't really want the BEP CD either)...
1. James Blunt - You're Beautiful
2. Black Eyed Peas - My Humps
3. Baha Men - Who Let the Dogs Out
4. Crazy Frog - Axel F
5. Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls
...since this seems to be all about recent stuff.
The contest is closed. The winner will be announced pretty soon.
And the winner is pop elton, with four correct guesses. You definitely know bad taste. Send your address to runefromnorway@hotmail.com, and I'll buy you a Black Eyed Peas album. Congratulations!
Sorry for being late (I always am), but Elephunk is in the mail right now. It's even used.
Thanks Rune
I thought you didn't have my address because when I sent my mail I got some error messages that the message was waiting or the address was wrong or something like that. I was pretty glad because I thought I never have to listen to any Black Eyed Peys album.
But as I promised when I get the album I'm gonna listen to it at least once.
By the way, was the album cheaper than shipping costs?
Oh yes. I think the album was £0.29. I didn't have to break the bank to buy this one.
You won't suffer too much, Elephunk is definitely listenable. Monkey Business on the other hand is just atrocious.
Isn't 'listenable' a way of defending an album by saying 'Sure, it sucks, but if I were handcuffed to a wall and it was playing, I wouldn't chew my arm off?'
I imagine I'd last no more than two tracks of Elephunk before exploring the chewing off arm scenario.
