That's a couple more top 15 songs gone with Lovely Rita and Sexy Sadie. I think Sexy Sadie was Lennon's best commentary song with the Beatles and ranks up there with his best as a solo artist. It's probably better if you really know the Beatles history. I mean, most people know it's about the Maharishi but if you're really into the history of the Beatles the song takes on a new life. As for Lovely Rita.... I'm shocked. Despite the trouncing my top 20 has taken the past two cuts my top 5 remains unscathed!

3: You Won't See Me: I love this song but I’ve always considered it more a guilty pleasure (these ooh la la la!). The feeling of guiltiness has completely vanished seeing that I’m not the only one, but anyway I don’t consider this song belonging to the Top 50.
2: Mother Nature's Son: this song perfectly showcases the pros (beautifully crafted melodies that sound so effortless) and cons (blandness, superficial lyrics) of Sir Paul McCartney.
2: And Your Bird Can Sing: a song not widely regarded (even Lennon once qualified it as “another horror”) except in this forum where it was voted as #193 song of all-time. I don’t find it that special and its main achievement, the doubled-tracked guitar solo harmonized in third (played simultaneously by Harrison and McCartney), has been so overused by heavy-metal bands since then that now it don’t seem to me a good idea at all.
1: Carry That Weight: returning to my ballot
1: Paperback Writer: great guitar riff, great bass line, great “Frêre-Jacques” backing vocals. I like this one a lot but the B-side was better (not that strange in many Beatles singles).

My top 5 was also unscathed, until this cut I see my #1 going away with Savoy Truffle's elimination. Anyway, I didn't even expect it to get as far as it did here! Now it joins Think for Yourself, Piggies and The Word as my top 10 songs already out of the island. Thankfully the remaining ones are surely going to be here for a good amount of time.

I'm another one sad for Sexy Sadie's unexpected elimination. In fact, I really like all of the songs gone this round. So, my vote remains the same of last cut.
