Today is a really sad day for me. Just a couple of hours ago my hometown rock festival declared themselves bankrupt, and was promptly cancelled.
My oh my, had I looked forward to that week. It was the best week of the year by far. The city was boiling, some of the best musicians in the world has been to my little town (David Bowie, The Who, Elvis Costello, Beastie Boys, Beck, Pixies, Blur, Oasis, PJ Harvey and the list goes on and on). Now there's no more Quart.
After a near bankrupt last year (bad bookings, worse weather) they had toned down their profile this year, but had a really interesting lineup. I was especially looking forward to these following few: Kings of Leon, Justice, Kool Keith, UNKLE, Interpol, Rockettothesky, Dizzee Rascal, Johnossi and Cradle of Filth. Other mentionable artists were Gnarls Barkley, The Streets, The Hives, Death Cab For Cutie, Jason Mraz, Röyksopp and I'm From Barcelona.
