Have to agree with you there mismaiome. I heard "Time to Pretend" first in January and slipped it into my top 5 of 2007. Beside that I'll go with "San Bernardino" by the Mountain Goats.

The number of songs I have heard from 2008.That's slightly weird - there's 40 year olds here who have heard all the newest songs and I'm 21 and am getting the stuff they were listening to when they were my age. I'll probably catch up on the '08 stuff in about 2017...

I haven't listened to many 2008 albums so far, my choice will go to Blind from Hercules and Love Affair too... Might change soon since I'm planning to listen to Portishead's Third tonight.

Drive-By Truckers - The Righteous Path

Oh, I'm confusing people again. I meant that in response to AJackson's suggestion of "The Tallest Man On Earth". Perhaps because both your names start with an A.. I suppose.

In regard to "The Tallest Man On Earth", it seems very few critics have reviewed this album so far, and the artist is not very well known. In fact, the only review I can find is one from Pitchfork (8.1). The album is really really good though. It's my favorite album of the year so far, quite a bit better than Bon Iver which is my #2.

Good choice Tim! I like the M83 album "Saturday = Youth" alot. Graveyard girl is one of the best. But if i had to choose one song on that album it would have to be "couleurs". It makes me want to dance really bad.

"Sexual Sportswear" by Sebastien Tellier is cool. It could have been done whenever the last 30 years and it reminds of a few other songs in the history of rock. But it's damn consequent. Saying "I Don't Care". He also sees the world from a distance, looking at all the people living their lives. Is he an outsider? Don't know, but he might belong to the gang in "Clockwork Orange".

"Run" by Gnarls Barkley is good too.
