Re: 100 best movie soundtracks

No Jimmy Cliff?

Harder They Come is on there -- it's listed as v/a.

Re: 100 best movie soundtracks

The Third Man (Anton Karas, 1949)

The Proposition (Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, 2005)

Nightmare Before Christmas (Danny Elfman, 1994)

Re: 100 best movie soundtracks

The "Collateral" ost was quite good!

Re: 100 best movie soundtracks

Suspiria & Nightmare Before Christmas... I'm in.

Re: 100 best movie soundtracks

Suspiria most definitely!

Re: 100 best movie soundtracks

The Edward Scissorhands soundtrack would have made my top 100 albums had it been eligible!

Re: 100 best movie soundtracks

Please remind me of why Edward Scissorhands wasn't eligible. I can't think of a reason.

Re: 100 best movie soundtracks

Superb list. A list including Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Ry Cooder, Angelo Badalamenti, Goran Bregovic or Bernard Herrmann can’t be bad (not to mention Bach, Schubert or Gershwin). Maybe Elfman was the only injustified absence.

Re: 100 best movie soundtracks

The Edward Scissorhands soundtrack has an unfortunate inclusion of Tom Jones' "It's Not Unusual". I guess that meant it was viewed as a compilation.
