next site update?

Henrik stated in another thread that because of the extensive work that goes into updating all the listings, the next full site update probably won't be forthcoming for several months. He had previously announced that in the future, the all-time lists will likely only be updated once a year.

There will probably be at least two more "best of 2007" updates, with the last coming shortly after the release of the Village Voice Pazz & Jop list.

how on earth do websites make money? why is it that a fantastic site such as this one can't afford regular updates? advertising? i wouldn't mind a few ads on the site.

It's a labour of love so it probably has more to do with time than money.

Well there is advertising on the site. When you go into an individual album listing the link back to Amazon probably gives Henrick a little cash if you buy the album that way.

Yes, the Amazon links give me a little cash, but certainly not so I can quit my job and be able to do regular updates.

I can't imagine they do. I hope they at least cover your server costs :)
