I know all the Rolling Stone haters are going to rip this list regardless, because that's what they do, but I don't find it that bad. Most of the albums are deserving.
The most obvious omission to me is the National, which should be on the list. The most glaring inclusions are Melissa Etheridge and Linkin Park. We all know they both suck balls. OK, so Etheridge doesn't literally suck balls, I meant that in a figurative sense.
I am surprised, though, that "Under the Blacklight" is getting all the credit that Rilo Kiley deserved for "More Adventurous."
Yeah, that's not a terrible list. MIA's album has been really underrated, Jay-Z is finally getting some love and Against Me! as well.
I don't get the Rilo Kiley lovefest but whatever.
not a terrible list but at least an eclective one
some rap, some country, some classical rock, not the usual white-indie only Arcade Fire-National-LCD list we find on too many EOY lists
I'mm considering opening a thread about the implications of music/ musical press market's segmentation on this site's listings
It is an imporant matter I guess
Here I was assuming that most lists don't include The National because they didn't hear the record. (Christgau doesn't have a review either for example) RS however included a song (one of the weaker ones in my opinion) in their top 100 songs though, but still no inclusion in the top 50. I honestly don't get it.
By the way, is there some kind of unwritten rule that you can't have more than 1 song per artist in a top 100? Surely M.I.A., Bruce Springsteen or anyone among the top songs has another song better than Nickelback..
Maybe some critics simply don't like "Boxer"I've listened to it and I didn't like it
Yeah, I can understand that, but practically all of them? I don't buy it.
Another thing; Rolling Stone gave Boxer 4 stars, and Britney 3.5, yet still she's on the list and Boxer isn't.
Same goes for Foo Fighters, Maroon 5 probably a few more.
Hell, something as high as Jay-Z got 4 stars. Anyway, enough with the ranting.
I suppose the list isn't too bad.
Apples in Stereo!!!!!!!!! Yay! I never thought Rolling Stone would be one of the very few to include them in a year end list but any magazine that's smart enough to include this overlooked gem is fine with me. It came out early in the year so it's often forgotten and I hope it at least cracks the top 100. I don't understand what the big deal is behind Neutral Milk Hotel, their fellow bandmates, but without Apples all their hype would be minimal at best. Get the band that started it all. They deserve better.
I can't stand Schneider's voice. The music's great but I hate that nasally, whiny voice. It's almost as bad as Billy Corgan's.
Really? You're the 1st person I've ever heard say that. Billy Corgan's voice is annoying but Zack from Rage and Joanna Newsom are like chalk boards being scratched.
It is not a terrible list it seems interesting I loved to hear songs from the following list it all about taste we can't say anything to anyone but I really appreciate your work Intercaste Love Marriage Specialist Baba Ji in Maheshtala
Taking time and real hard work to make a great article. This post has encouraged me to write some posts that I am going to write soon. spells to bind someone to you
In relationship misunderstandings and fights are common and it is necessary for every relationship because as we heard from our elders that if fights happen in relations that it maintains a love of life, but these misunderstandings should be sorted by hook and crook. Marriage is a beautiful moment of life and is an adorable creation of God and relation always lasts long if both partners equally devote themselves to it whether it is physically and mentally if they have a mutual understanding and if they compromise with each other then their marriage will last long.
And sometimes due to some reasons, husband and wife get distracted from each other and it was heartbreaking for the other partner and if your husband's love is reduced towards you then all you just need to do is wazifa for husbands love if you do it wisely then it will definitely work for you.
Thank you for another fantastic blog.
