Name an influencial band that isn't exactly acclaimed. For me hands down the Cocteau Twins. Their thunder got stolen all the time to the likes of Siouxie and the Banshees, Kate Bush, Jesus and Mary Chain than My Bloody Valentine. In alternative rock an amazing voice is rarly appreciated. Once in a while a Beth Gibbons or Eddie Veder will come along and change that notion but Liz Frasier's voice is easily the most influencial voice of her era: MBV, Lush, the Sugarcubes/Bjork, Garbage, the Cranberries, the Sundays, Sigur Ros, the Delays, Curve, the Cardigans, Camera Obscura, Mazzy Star, Belly, Stars, the Pale Saints, Slowdive, the Concretes, Air, Ladytron, Goldfrapp, Yo La Tengo, Stereolab, Broadcast, Beth Orton just to name a few.
