Van Morrison is David Gray's major influence.
You should try "Moondance" or "Astral Weeks" (the latter being a little more difficult but is excellent after a few hearings)

Ashley, I think you should listen to Ed Harcourt, probably the best singer-songwriter in Great Britain today.

By the way, Ashley, Van Morrison's Astral Weeks is the best album ever.
