David Gray

Is there anyone out there like him or up to his standard of artistic value? if so please let me know, I have just started lissting to james blunt and he is good to any alternatives?

Re: David Gray

Damien Rice is similar. Of course, there's also Nick Drake and Eliott Smith. I'm not sure how familiar you are with music.

Re: David Gray

Damien Rice is a good suggestion for music like that. Also, Badly Drawn Boy.

Check out this site for finding similar artists (at the bottom of the page). It's a great resource that a lot of us use.

Re: David Gray

Thanks guys, will check them out, any idears about any other english singer songwriters around old or new???

Re: David Gray

Van Morrison is David Gray's major influence.
You should try "Moondance" or "Astral Weeks" (the latter being a little more difficult but is excellent after a few hearings)

Re: David Gray

Ashley, I think you should listen to Ed Harcourt, probably the best singer-songwriter in Great Britain today.

Re: David Gray

By the way, Ashley, Van Morrison's Astral Weeks is the best album ever.

jk

but seriously, it is.

Re: David Gray

try josh rouse, a great contemporary american singer-songwriter. dressed up like nebraska and 1972 are both great albums.

Re: David Gray

"Nashville" is awesome too.
