There's other pretty good records like Blonde Redhead but I just haven't really gotten into the stuff from this year. What's good this year are imports that came out last year.
Patrick Wolf - Magic Position
Prodigy - Return Of The Mac
Good choice. The Magic Position is terrific. I wanna be his groupie when he comes back to LA.
Not necessarily in order:
The White Stripes
Kings of Leon
The Broken West
Hey Dumbangel, you're a pitiful Dumbass when it comes to Rap and R'n'B, but apart from that I worship your taste in contemporary records. Hissing Fauna and Dressed Up (plus the rest of your choice) are awesome and (somehow) outstanding albums of 2007

The last couple days I've been listening to The New Pornographers - Challengers and although I'd rank it below Mass Romantic and Twin Cinema it's still one of my favorites of the year.
Now that it's almost September I'm sure most people's list has changed a bit. My favorite of the year is now probably Okkervil River - The Stage Names which is absolutely incredible and even better than Black Sheep Boy which I loved.
Sunset Rubdown - Random Spirit Lover is another amazing album and may end up being my favorite by the end of the year. "Up on Your Leopard, Upon the End of Your Feral Days" from the album is the best song I've heard all year and can be heard here-
Apples in Stereo
I just haven't had time to get too engaged with music this year, so my perception of the year to date might not be too accurate. It's seemed to me that this year is a bit of a comedown from '06, which I thought was fairly terrific with reasonably classic albums from Scott Walker, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Prince Billy and great records from the Pernice Brothers and the Hold Steady. I haven't heard anything this year that I liked 1/2 as much as any one of those releases.
Updated list of my top 10 albums of 2007:
1. Lucky Soul - "The Great Unwanted"
2. Jens Lekman - "Night Falls Over Kortedala"
3. of Montreal - "Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?"
4. Kula Shaker - "Strange Folk"
5. Richard Swift - "Dressed Up for the Letdown"
6. The High Llamas - "Can Cladders"
7. Josh Rouse - "Country Mouse City House"
8. The Coral - "Roots & Echoes"
9. The Go! Team - "Proof of Youth"
10.Sondre Lerche - "Phantom Punch"
Too much to list right now. I'd say Tegan and Sara is my favorite so far though.
The only two from this year I've liked (or, actually, even heard) are NIN and Arcade Fire.
Alright I have a little more time... top 20 so far. What a great year so far. Much better than 06 and there is still a bunch of stuff I'm looking forward to. I haven't listened to MIA, Talib Kweli and the Liars much so I could see those being in my top 10 at year end.
1. Tegan and Sara- The Con
2. Justice- Cross
3. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists- Living w/ the Living
4. National- Boxer
5. St. Vincent- Marry Me

I tend to really look at and figure out my favorites every three months, so there's the ones I'm sure of from June and earlier, and ones I'm less sure of from July since.
