Wow, I didn't realize P&J was coming out tomorrow (Tue 1/31) already. That's earlier than usual. I thought I'd start a thread by offering my prediction for the poll's top twenty albums:
1. Kanye West, LATE REGISTRATION
2. Sufjan Stevens, ILLINOIS
3. The New Pornographers, TWIN CINEMA
4. M.I.A., ARULAR
5. Sleater-Kinney, THE WOODS
6. Antony and the Johnsons, I AM A BIRD NOW
7. LCD SOUNDSYSTEM
8. Bright Eyes, I'M WIDE AWAKE IT'S MORNING
9. My Morning Jacket, Z
10. The White Stripes, GET BEHIND ME SATAN
11. Fiona Apple, EXTRAORDINARY MACHINE
12. Animal Collective, FEELS
13. Bloc Party, SILENT ALARM
14. Common, BE
15. CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH
16. Spoon, GIMME FICTION
17. Gorillaz, DEMON DAYS
18. Wolf Parade, APOLOGIES TO THE QUEEN MARY
19. Art Brut, BANG BANG ROCK & ROLL
20. The Hold Steady, SEPARATION SUNDAY
Hmm,... a few comments:
-Gorillaz fared well (20th) in 2001 with their debut, despite vanilla acclaim upon release. I expect Demon Days will be in the top 5 or at least 10.
-You're probably right about Kanye, even though it's absurd that he'd beat Sufjan. But if he got #1 last year it'd make sense that LR would get #1 also.
-I think Feels will be way lower. I just don't think it's accessible enough for these guys. Besides, Sung Tongs was 21st on last years'.
-Is it possible for Arcade Fire to show up again? I've seen this happen with the voice for albums that are released in december or something, but I don't know if the overseas thing has any impact.
-In the same vein, seems the Go! Team would place at some point.
-Wolf Parade's an interesting question. They're the most "indie" indie album that was acclaimed this year, and their placement on lists has varied wildly. I get the feeling it'll place, but these guys are too mainstream to place it that high.
-I imagine Bloc Party will at least break the top 10.
-Finally... drumroll please... the geezer albums! Albums that weren't actually that good but are included for nostalgia's sake. Don't forget Liz Phair pulled 38th place with a 36 on metacritic in 2003!
Thus, I nominate: Rolling Stones' A Bigger Bang, I suggest Get Behind Me Satan will be higher though probably not top 5, Kraftwerk's Live Album, almost certainly BECK, maybe even Coldplay and Death Cab. And good lord I just realized you've forgotten Franz, not that that's a fogie album.
Anyway, I'm not assertive enough to create my own list, just unravel yours. It looks pretty accurate overall though.
Since this is generally more mainstream, I doubt Sufjan will peak at the top. He'll definitely be in the top 20 though, where he belongs in the first place.
I'm beginning to think that someone was the recipient of bad information, unless it's merely the case that the posting of the list has been delayed. It's entirely possible that P&J isn't actually coming out until next week. We'll know soon enough.

I don't have a problem with it, it's as expected pretty much. Two of my top five are below the 300 mark and another couple of my top ten are outside the top 100.
Yeah, you would think "Since U Been Gone" would have topped the chart. But "Gold Digger" was EVERYWHERE and was released at the right time while the former came out way early in the year. Either way, it's remarkable that Kanye topped both last year's and this year's poll!
"Hung Up" fares notably better than Confessions on a Dance Floor. No denying that track's near-pop perfection (esp. in its album/video version).
Twenty-six citations for the album isn't so bad. The critical pool is its largest yet, so the percentage of critics citing it is down compared to albums like Ray of Light and Music.
the singles list has just listed the # of mentions as far back as at leat the 80s (and probably before).
I think Henrik looks at just the top 50 for the P&J poll (though who knows if that would change). It's only in recent years that albums/singles beyond the top 40 were published online- and even in general, I think, as the publication ony had listed the top 40 through the 90s).
For completeness' sake, here are the P&J rankings of the other albums which currently appear on the Acclaimed Music top 2500:
41. Isolee, WE ARE MONSTER
42. Feist, LET IT DIE (2004 album)
49. ANDREW BIRD AND THE MYSTERIOUS PRODUCTION OF EGGS
50. Sigur Ros, TAKK...
58. Okkervil River, BLACK SHEEP BOY
66. The Kaiser Chiefs, EMPLOYMENT
71. Maximo Park, A CERTAIN TRIGGER
72. BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE
90. Devendra Banhart, CRIPPLE CROW
119. THE MAGIC NUMBERS
