Re: The albums you are always looking for in critics lists

no question... van dyke park's SONG CYCLE - well known but seldomly listed. makes me cheer everytime i spot it amidst one's recommendation packet (truly adore paul morley for listing it even twice... i saw him listing it... twice! i saw him listing it.... TWICE! --- stale quotation by now. sorry )

Hmmm...

I wonder who I usually look for first.

Of her albums, though, Like a Prayer is the one I look for to score best on critical lists/features.

Re: The albums you are always looking for in critics lists

Prince- 1999: If eligible and not included, it's not a good list!

Others:

Anything by The Cure
Anything by Eurythmics
Anything by Blondie
Annie- Anniemal
Kylie Minogue- Fever

Re: The albums you are always looking for in critics lists

Warren Zevon -- "Warren Zevon" or "Excitable boy"
Steve Wynn -- "Kerosene Man"

Zevon does occur occasionally ... :-)
