I was a terrible even singles wise it wasn't that great. Pop wise Gwen, Kelly Clarkson and the Blackeyed Peas were good at what they did but it could have been a lot better. Let's make sure that 2005 NEVER happens again and 2006 is better. It's HAS to be. Nothing could be any worse than 2005. Here are my favorite singles for that year.

I'm agree with you Tim, 2005 wasn't a good music for music, probably the worst year of the last 10 years.
But where's the need to make a top 25 singles if the year was so bad ?

i'll bet 2005 will make out the same cheesy cult affection as 1985 did 20 years ago. no substance but poignancy: hollaback girl, pussycat dolls, pon de replay, candy shop, mario, crazy frog rip offs... how relentlessly can pop be itself without losing its touch and its patterns. and what might our children think of that year as soon as they're going to download these tunes while being infected by some Bender's 500-Greatest-Songs-Since-Your-Parents-Were-Born-list... i'd REALLY like to know
oh, btw, tim, "Born In The 70's" IS great. i've always been waiting for that kind of song since i'd listened to "Born In The 50's" by The Police and used to adlib the chorus line ever since to make it fit. thanks Ed. you're not appreciated the way you should be but you're still there. and that still means a lot.
Male singer songwriters like Tom Waits drives me crazy. That's why Ed Hartcort is so refreshing. Him and Tom Vek make being born a man justified. And as for the 80s OWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone used to howl in the 80s LOL!!!
While their weren't too many albums chasing to be album of the year I still maintain that compared to other years in the past 10 there was at least a depth and variety to 2005 albums.
Singles however, there were loads of great singles this year, many more then the last two and i'd quite happily post a top 100 here.
