So I’ve been running a couple of affiliate sites and dabbling in dropshipping for the past year. It’s finally getting to the point where the money coming in is more than just beer money, and I’m realizing I’ve got no clue if I’m doing the accounting part right. I tried using a regular accountant last year but they didn’t seem to understand how affiliate payouts, platforms like Stripe and PayPal, or even ad spend work. It was a mess.

Is anyone else here using an accountant who specializes in affiliate marketing or e-commerce in general? I’d love to hear how you found them and if it’s actually made a difference for your profits or taxes. Also open to hearing what mistakes to avoid.
