1. Treefight for Sunlight - "Treefight for Sunlight"

excellent album § I haven't heard it enough to rank it.
I picked it from your list on RYM.

Merci beaucoup et viens plus souvent nous rendre visite ici !!

Re: Mid-term 2011 lists

1. PJ Harvey - Number one for me in what has been a down year.
2. Lykke Li - A diverse set of songs that took me by surprise.
3. TV on the Radio - I like this about equally with their first two albums, but Dear Science is still slightly ahead of them all.
4. The Decemberists - Simply a good collection of songs, their best since Picaresque.
5. James Blake - Usually not my type of thing, but there's a simple emotional resonance with these songs.
6. Drive-By Truckers - They can always be counted on.
7. White Denim - I've just listened to this a couple of times, but it has potential to move up.
8. Paul Simon - His best songwriting since Graceland
9. Charles Bradley - Some good old-school soul for your soul.
10. Tennis - The pleasant pop surprise of the year. They don't sound like Sleigh Bells, but they fill that niche for me.

Listened to, didn't make the cut (No particular order)
R.E.M.
Fleet Foxes
Iron and Wine
Destroyer
Bill Calahan
Bon Iver
Death Cab for Cutie
Gang Gang Dance
Radiohead
Panda Bear

03. tUnE yArDs-Who Kill
04. Panda Bear-Tomboy
05. Hauschka-Salon Des Amateurs
06. The Low Anthem-Smart Flesh
07. La Boutique Fantastique-La Boutique Fantastique
08. James Blake-James Blake

Most fun-track so far this year: Forrest Gump, by electronica duo Digitalism and Julian Casablancas. It's been a while that the Strokes frontman sounded this inspired.

Honourable mention should go to the burgeoning Future Garage scene, the latest hybrid in Electronica. It's very closely related to Dubstep, albeit with lesser dark undertones. (Both tracks are actually from 2010, but I only discovered them recently).

I get that now. She lacks Neko powerhouse vocals, but has a similar approach in the delivery. I still listen a little of Bethany's early demos, but far fewer now and the comparison is more of an abstract, personal one. Blame it on Cults- they do are the ones that sound like a better produced Best Coast. ~doesn't mean it is a bad thing~

I'm actually surprised by the lack of tUnE-yArDs since it is one of the unique sonic landscapes and best albums of the year. Reminded me of Bitte Orca striking me in 2009.
