SPIN's Greatest Instrumental Songs

The list is available at http://www.spin.com/articles/playlist-30-greatest-instrumental-songs-ever?page=0%2C1
and includes songs that I am familiar with, including:

Edgar Winter, "Frankenstein" (1973)
Van Halen, "Eruption" (1978)
Rush, "YYZ" (1981)
Joe Satriani, "Surfing With the Alien" (1987)

and other songs that I need to listen to again, including:

Neu!, "Hallo Gallo" (1972)
Incredible Bongo Band, "Apache" (1972)
Rhys Chatham, "Guitar Trio" (1977)
Yngwie Malmsteen, "Icarus Dream Suite Opus 4" (1984)
Gone, "Fifth Forces Suite: Hypercharge / The Wait" (1986)
Don Caballero, "Lucky Father Brown" (1992)
Earth, "Seven Angels" (1993)
Tortoise, "Djed" (1996)
Mogwai, "Mogwai Fear Satan" (1997)
Godspeed You! Black Emperor, "Lift Yr. Skinny Fists, Like Antennas to Heaven..." (2000)
Explosions in the Sky, "Your Hand in Mine" (2003)
Beastie Boys, "Electric Worm" (2007).

No jazz allowed in this list as far as I can tell.

Re: SPIN's Greatest Instrumental Songs

Glad to see "Maggot Brain", "Walk Don't Run", "Rumble", and "Green Onions" make the list. It really wouldn't be a list without them.

I would've liked to include "Jessica" by The Allman Brothers Band and "Da Funk" by Daft Punk, if it were up to me though. Those have got to be two of the best instrumental songs out there.

Re: SPIN's Greatest Instrumental Songs

"Djed" and "Peaches En Regalia" are also two of my favorites.

This list also lacks electronic songs, but that may be intentional (hence the Daft Punk snub).

Re: SPIN's Greatest Instrumental Songs

Alright... I'll be the one to ask the stupid question.

Is this list eligible for inclusion on AM?

Re: SPIN's Greatest Instrumental Songs

No electronic music allowed either?

That's a pity.
