#9 Spoon (Not only do I love Spoon, but they’re from Austin. Who else would I pick? Tool’s not terrible, but it does my heart good to see that every AM voter so far has chosen Spoon - although there are one or two voters who I suspect might go for Tool.)

#3 Pulp (They had two brilliant albums: the accessible Different Class and the not-so-accessible This Is Hardcore. And Arrested Development’s terribly overrated.)

I label Spoon as a 'Consistently above average' band. Everything they do is good, but they're rarely spectacular. Which is why I have to go with Tool, because a handful of their songs are really excellent, even if they do fall a little on the self indulgent side.
