Just wondering - does anyone know how they work out the rankings for albums/songs. For instance,just looking at the top albums of 2011,King of Limbs is #8 with a mediocre average rating of 3.46,yet there are albums below it with ratings of over 3.7. The Fleet Foxes new record at the moment has an average rating of 3.91(which appears to be higher than any other album this year) yet isn't even on the list,but albums with ratings like 3.33 are.

It also takes into account number of ratings. The more ratings an album has, the higher it ranks. I think it is there to counteract downrating of popular albums and to prevent an album ranking highly based on a mere few votes.
