Maiden -

EPMD - I have grown to like Bon Jovi less and less over the years, EPMD is such an important piece to the "Golden Age of Hip-Hop".

Happy Mondays - From '88 - '92 they defined the Madchester scene which also coincided with the period of my life that I rocked the dance floor...

Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark or OMD - Tesla is kind of a guilty pleasure, but OMD had so many great songs...

STONE ROSES!!! The essential band, best debut album ever. It is almost a shame that legal issues and unrest left them with only 2 studio albums to their name. It would have been amazing had they given us more!!!

#1 R.E.M. (But here’s a quick shout-out to Chris Isaak, a fine musician and gentleman.)

#8 ABC (Huh. Interesting contrast. Both acts are great, but I’m taking ABC since they were a bit more groundbreaking.)

#5 LL Cool J (LL and Joan are both action-figure pop stars – no disrespect meant – but LL’s stuff is much more vital.)

#13 Erasure (Maiden is one of the very few 80’s metal bands I might make a case for if I just didn’t like the competition. But I do like Erasure.)

#14 EPMD (Jon Bon Jovi is a surprisingly good film actor.)
