4 of my top 20 albums of all time represented today : Either/Or, Dummy, Funeral and XO
6 of those artists have songs in my top 100 of all time, Justin and Missy miss the cut but would put a song in my top 100 of the 00s though. Great bracket !
Arcade Fire
pass (haven't heard Bloc Party)
Stone Temple Pilots (pretty low seed for them)
Elliott Smith (too bad sentimental favorite Jimmy Eat World draws one of my favorite artists to begin with)
Portishead
pass
Justin Timberlake
Massive Attack
#1 Arcade Fire
#8 Bloc Party
#5 Rage Against the Machine (Not crazy about RATM, but, besides “Interstate Love Song,” I’d happily consign the rest of the STP catalog to the memory hole.)
#4 Elliott Smith
#3 Portishead
#11 Garbage (I’m warming up to Missy a little bit, but, as creepily Svengali-ish as Garbage is, I still love ‘em)
#7 Justin Timberlake
#2 Massive Attack
In the last year, I’ve achieved (if that’s the word) one degree of separation in my social life from members of two of these bands: Bloc Party and Jimmy Eat World. Luckily, I actually like both bands, so it’s not as awkward as when I met the bassist for the Spin Doctors.
ARCADE FIRE -- 3 Unbelievable albums, and hopefully at least 3 more. One of the favorites in this region???
BLOC PARTY -- A couple of years back I was really listening to alot of these guys. Seem to have lost touch with them recently, lukewarm on Alanis.
STP -- I do like me some Rage, but in small doses. I have grown less and less fond of Stone Temple Pilots over the years, but I do still enjoy a good portion of their early catalogue.
JIMMY EAT WORLD -- Problem with each Jimmy album, half of it is really good, the other half... ahh! Never really have gotten into Elliott's stuff. The occasional song here and there sounds ok, just not big on him.
PORTISHEAD -- Hate to vote against OK Go, but it's Portishead!!!
GARBAGE -- Another band where I have every album and still enjoy each one of them. Never really got Missy, still don't.
COMMON -- I should mind JT, but I don't. Common is consitantly good.
MASSIVE ATTACK -- This is suprisingly difficult, if for only one reason... MCR is a true guilty pleasure of mine. There I said it.

Waaaay overhated because her first album oversold, resulting in her being stereotyped as an 'Angry female'.
#12 Stone Temple Pilots
#4 Elliott Smith
#3 Portishead
#11 Garbage
#10 Common
#2 Massive Attack
I vote for Ice Cube. Yeah he should've stopped rapping a while ago, but he is the founder of that particular sub-genre (gangsta) so I'll give him some leeway. Amerikkkas Most Wanted, Death Certificate, & The Predator were released over the course of two and a half years! Daaaaaamn! All are perfect 10s to me.

*Who knew so many people on here respected Timberlake,or maybe they just can't stand Common...
It's a sad, sad day here at AM.
I like Timberlake and Common about equally... but I love Timbaland. Moonbeam, as a Missy Elliott supporter, does that make some degree of sense?
Yes, but Timbertwat's horrific vocals and massive douchebag personality far outweight Timbaland's contributions for me.
Perhaps Timberlake will be more appealing to you as an actor than a singer. Did you see him in "The Social Network?" I thought that he did a credible job in the film.
How does Timberlake stack up against your other "not-faves" - like The Beatles or Pink Floyd?
