I was just scrolling through and found something that didn't make sense to me.
John Grant's "Queen of Denmark" is 23rd while Sleigh Bells' "Treats" is seven spots behind at 30. When I look at the scores from each area of the world, the order doesn't make sense to me.
John Grant:
EU: 4
UK: 30
US: unranked
MC - 0
Sleigh Bells:
EU: unranked
UK: 19
US: 3
MC - 84
So is the EU really influential? Or does the fact that John Grant doesn't have a metacritic score actually help it? I'm having a tough time with this one.
Ok thanks - my mistake was inferring that no ranking meant no reviews from that area.
Another awesome Mega-Critic year as always. I can't live without it.
Although it's a bit weird to see Anais Mitchell ranking 1st on the UK list and only 76th worldwide! Is it because she only had a few reviews?
Hadestown is the best album critics have never heard of.
It's weird because just about every indie music forum is crazy over it. Critics just aren't touching it.
What's this Wyatt/Atzmon/Stephen album? It's the only one in the top 30 I haven't heard.
