This is a very good series on the rise of grunge and alternative music at the beginning of the decade. I have a slightly different perspective than the writer (being a few years older and having lived near Seattle when this was all going on) but a lot of what he writes still hit home for me.
One of my greatest regrets when it comes to music is not going to see a Nirvana show when I could have. But still, at least I did share a plane ride from Seattle to London with the band once.
