Re: Report errors here - new thread for 11/10 update
In regards to a database error from the last update- Henrik, when you do points calculations, do you go back and redo them all when doing an update? I know you had said that you said would be recalculating those couple of Guardian lists from the last update, with the next one or whatever. Also just curious about that in general. Thanks, sir. :)
Re: Report errors here - new thread for 11/10 update
Yes, the calculations are based on matchup scores rather than a sum of points from each critics' list, and therefore I need to rerun all data for every update, not just add the new lists to the existing scores.
I hope that was clear or answered your question, JR.
Re: Report errors here - new thread for 11/10 update
Yes, indeed. For another example and on a related note- if a list was added to a track's page after the update (i.e. what we discussed in e-mail), it gets factored in when you perform the pertinent update.

To complete the list that Iagire started above, the following albums were 'promoted' by AllMusic to full five star status earlier this year. Links are included for convenience:
Re: Report errors here - new thread for 11/10 update
What's the threshold for songs to be "bubbling under?"
I noticed in 2007, Bloc Party's "The Prayer" had a total score of 20, but did not make the list, although other songs with a total score of 20 like Dizzee Rascal's "Sirens" made the list, and songs with more points like Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good" with 21 points did not.
Also, Britney Spears' "Piece of Me" has 17 points in 2007, but it's missing Ireland's Hot Press ranking which only shows up on the 2008 spreadsheet. I don't know if that's enough to make it "bubbling under" or not, but I figure I'd let you know.

Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes featuring Veronica of the ronettes is 3 on allmusic
Iagire, this rating is not included at AM because there's no review written. In general, I have only included ratings where there's a review of more than one sentence.

Thanks!
The scores in the end-of-year (EOY) spreadsheets are only for the EOY lists, without any weights assigned to the critics' lists. For the all-time AM list, each critics' list has a unique weight depending on for example the amount of lists from that country. There is no real threshold for the all-time lists, I'm picking songs by eyeballing the spreadsheet data.
Re: Report errors here - new thread for 11/10 update
I don't know if it's an error or not but why aren't compilation albums ever included on this list? There are many highly acclaimed compilation albums that could be included on this site.
Re: Report errors here - new thread for 11/10 update
"Fancy" should be listed under 1969, not 1970. The song peaked in the USA in 1970, but it was released in 1969. It even debuted on the country charts in December 1969 (via Joel Whitburn, Top Country Singles).
Re: Report errors here - new thread for 11/10 update
Not so much an error as a suggestion, but I reckon you should put a link to Funkadelic/Parliament under F as well. They started out as Funkadelic and the majority of their acclaimed albums were released under the Funkadelic name, so if you don't like putting them in there twice I would argue it should be listed under Funkadelic/Parliament.
