Where's Never Mind the Bollocks, The Clash...these are the albums which put the idea in his head after his New York Dolls fandom.

I remember he did a desert island discs a while back,but his songs were quite a bit different to those ones there. I think he mentioned one time that Nico's Chelsea Girl was his favourite album...
