SLICKS VOTES: BRUCE (tough one)... LL COOL J... NEIL YOUNG... KISS... MARVIN GAYE... PETER GABRIEL... BON JOVI... SONIC YOUTH...
Slicks Predictions...
TOSS UP -- I give the edge to Bruce, but it will be close...
TOSS UP -- Edge goes to LL, another close one expected...
YOUNG -- Potentially a big win, Commodores could give a fight...
TOSS UP -- Not sure if Kiss can win this one...
MARVIN -- Should win...
PG -- I'll give Peter Gabriel the edge, Femmes could make things interesting...
BON JOVI -- Classic AM vs. non-AM matchup. Swing vote could be from the AM voters who vote for Bon Jovi...
TOSS UP -- Cannot pick a winner in this one...
Bruce Springsteen - not a huge Springsteen fan, but he wins this one
Sheryl Crow - interesting matchup...I like both, but I listen to Crow more often
The Commodores - Neil Young's music has always annoyed me...like the Commodores
Paul Simon
Marvin Gaye - another Motown great vs. um, someone I don't like :)
Peter Gabriel
Bon Jovi
Neil Diamond - if only because of Scrubs, when Turk does his Neil Diamond impression; ok, and because of songs like "Red, Red Wine", "America", and "Delirious Love"
easy decisions today...almost every matchup was someone I like vs. someone I don't
Today's favorite: Bon Jovi
Today's favorite I didn't vote for: LL Cool J
Favorite Song: "Solisbury Hill"

#4 Public Enemy
Very, very tough vote.
#3 Sheryl Crow
Not an LL Cool J fan. Sheryl Crow gets another 'consistently above average' vote. It's a shame Public Enemy and Springsteen had to go against each other instead of both facing one of each here.
#1 Neil Young
#3 Paul Simon
Kiss is a gimmick band.
#5 Kate Bush
Gaye is more 'important', but I like Kate Bush's material more.
#10 Violent Femmes
Peter Gabriel has some good songs, but overall I find him overproduced and annoying.
#5 Kraftwerk
#6 Sonic Youth
Two of the best four of the week are in the same match.
Public Enemy
LL Cool J
Neil Young
Paul Simon
Marvin Gaye
Violent Femmes
Kraftwerk
Sonic Youth
Feels weird to be voting against Springsteen this early, but for me that matchup’s no contest. However, I expect to be seeing him again in this tournament…
The Femmes vs. Peter Gabriel was the other tough one, but I’ll take punky over proggy 9 times out of 10. But I also expect that I didn’t vote for the winner here, either.

Pass (I can't believe one of these two will be in the top 128)

#4 Public Enemy: I've never been big on Bruce.
#2 LL Cool J: Sheryl Crow is a one-trick pony. Some could argue that so is LL Cool J, but I like his trick better.
#4 The Commodores: What I've heard of Neil Young doesn't really interest me much.
#3 Paul Simon: Not a fan of KISS, at all.
#5 Kate Bush: An easier win for me than it should be.
#3 Peter Gabriel: I'm not his biggest supporter, but he has some great songs.
#5 Kraftwerk: I really hope they pull it off. I like a lot of 80s pop/rock and hair metal, but I never really warmed to Bon Jovi. Kraftwerk, meanwhile, are absolutely essential.
#6 Sonic Youth: Easy win.

Bruce vs PE is terrible, arguably the best artists of each respective genre. That said, I'm more likely to put on a Public Enemy album than a Boss one right now.
I hope Sonic Youth beats Neil Diamond in the ultimate battle of artistic innovation vs pop sugar.
