The Beach Boys - I heard a horrendous remix of "Wouldn't It Be Nice" this weekend. I'm no purist, but that nearly perfect gem should have been left alone.
Eddie Cochran - Tough call. Cochran can be a bit by the numbers in his rock n' roll. But "C'mon Everybody" and "Sumemrtime Blues" outpace a lot of other hits of the era.
The O’Jays - atruly lopsided second round matchup.
Television - Another blow-out.
The Supremes - A very tough call. Just listened to Rapahael Saadiq's really good recent throw back to the Motown era album, and it's making me feel the Supremes in this matchup. Doesn't change my love for "All My Friends" and my admiration for Sound of Silver.
Joni Mitchell - Intriguing matchup. I have been harsh on Joni before. Don't care for her voice at all. But I m going to give her the nod for her sense of experimentation.
Van Morrison - Another intriguing matchup of artists who I consider to be overrated. But I have some degree of affection for Moondance. Morrison takes it.
