This week is interesting for a few reasons. The ridiculously low-seeded Sufjan will probably beat another far inferior artist, Wilco (the better band) has a good chance of losing to Duran Duran, and I'm forced to vote against one of the most talented musicians of all time because I don't particularly enjoy his genre. Oh well.

Duran Duran - Wilco is very hit or miss for me, but never have given me as much pleasure (with the possibl exception of "Heavy Metal Drummer") as Duran Duran's run of hits.

John Coltrane - Love Arcade Fire immensely. Coltrane's genius is on anpother level entirely.

No Doubt - Hayes had a wonderful, indelible sound, but he put it to effective use on two-and-a-half songs, tops ("Theme from 'Shaft,'" "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," and half of "Walk on By,"). No Doubt's superior poppiness suprisingly edges the hot-buttered soul of Chef.

De La Soul - Been relistening to and reenjoying "Three Feet High and Rising" recently.
