#1 (14) Pearl Jam vs. #16 (1011) General Public
#8 (499) Bananarama vs. #9 (526) Ice Cube
#5 (270) Tori Amos vs. #12 (755) Pantera
#4 (243) Crosby, Stills & Nash vs. #13 (782) Peter, Bjorn & John
#3 (142) Talking Heads vs. #14 (883) The Used
#6 (371) Bad Religion vs. #11 (654) Talk Talk
#7 (398) The Bangles vs. #10 (627) George Jones
#2 (115) Ozzy Osbourne vs. #15 (910) Katy Perry
#16 General Public - "Tenderness" is a great song
#8 Bananarama
#5 Tori Amos - beautifully haunting
#4 Crosby, Stills & Nash
#3 Talking Heads - love "And She Was", and listen to it frequently, even now
pass
#7 The Bangles - anyone who thinks they know the Bangles, I challenge you to listen to "Following"
#2 Sharon!!! I mean, Ozzy!
Today's favorite: The Bangles (by a large margin). Forget "Walk Like an Egyptian"...they have great songs like "I'll Set You Free", "Following", "Going Down to Liverpool", and of course "Manic Monday".
Today's favorite I didn't vote for: Pearl Jam
#1 Pearl Jam
#9 Ice Cube
#5 Tori Amos
#4 Crosby, Stills & Nash
#3 Talking Heads
#11 Talk Talk
#10 George Jones
#2 Ozzy Osbourne - I have been dismissive of Black Sabbath, and said that I prefer the cartoon that he has become... well here's the proof! Although mostly I'm voting against Perry. I don't blame Perry for stealing Jill Sobule's song title and theme, but I do blame for her for doing so with 1/100th of the original's humor, deftness, and musicality.
1. Pearl Jam
9. Ice Cube
5. Tori Amos
13. Peter Bjorn & John
3. Talking Heads
11. Talk Talk (I’m really sweating this one. Talk Talk was an outstanding group, and one of the few English new wave bands that actually improved as the 80s became the 90s. Bad Religion’s OK, but they’re not a patch on Talk Talk.)
10. George Jones
2. Ozzy Osbourne
Interestingly, we’ve got two 80s “girl groups” today (the term is applied loosely to the Bangles) who were both teenage crushes of mine, and I’m not voting for either of them.

Probably another one of those ones where a lot of the non-AM voters said "I think Bad Religion is only okay, but I've never heard of Talk Talk, so I'm going to vote Bad Religion".
