I thought I'd present more data for the current top 350 EOD albums, all of which are either already on the database or were included in Henrik's new entries list.

Any predictions on how this will effect the albums?

For example, will YHF stay in the exact same place being #4 on both lists, or will it go up in that the number of lists it has compared to the other albums on the all time list has increased?


Theoretically Funeral, Is This It, and Elephant could still go up on the all time list even though their ranking on the decade end have all gone down one.

It's also worth noting that the top 6 are the exact same just rejigged. I think it shows a lack of perspective that every album in the top five is white indie rock, especially in a decade almost completely commercially dominated by rap. but I chalk that upto most rock journalists being white indie rockers.

This is the first decade btw, to have a top 5 with only one platinum album in the United States; Kid A. I believe Is This It is at about 970k copies, YHF at about 640k, Funeral just below 500k and Sufjan Stevens probably only at about 200k. That's kind of baffling after multi-platinum juggernauts like Nevermind, Thriller, What's Going On, and Sgt Pepper placing in the top 5 in past decades.

I'm surprised TV On the Radio didn't do better overall in this list. Dear Science outside of the top 50 is the most surprising. I'm sure their albums suffered quite a bit of vote-splitting from publications who wanted only one high-placing album per artist.

I'm about split on the albums moving up and down. While I'm not enthused by Jay-Z, Arctic Monkeys, and Amy Winehouse moving up, I'm pleased about the Avalanches and a few others.
