Thanks Harold!

Re: 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: Revised & Updated

This will so help a lot of albums to increase their positions next update!

Re: 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: Revised & Updated

Seems strange that they only would delete other albums from this decade to make room for new ones. I admit, seeing the new additions and comparing them do the old ones, it doesn't seem like a fair fight, but a few deserve to stay in.

Re: 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: Revised & Updated

Yay Ys and Illinois!

why didn't they change Neon Bible with Funeral?

Re: 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: Revised & Updated

Just what Ys needed an all time list! Go Ys!

And just a question: Are you guys going to add that information only once, or more times? Example:

Tori Amos's Little Earthquakes appeared in the first edition. It is still there after 3 revisions, when i access the album's AM page next update, will i see:

A)

1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (2006) No Order

B)

1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (2006) No Order
1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (2007) No Order
1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (2008) No Order
1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (2009) No Order

A or B? Cause when Pitchfork revised their Top 90's albums, you guys added both lists, kinda like that:

Liz Phair's Exile In Guyville

Top 100 Albums of the 1990's (1999) #5
Top 100 Albums of the 1990's (2003) #30

Will this happen this time or maybe since the album has been revised yearly, we should pick option A?

Re: 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: Revised & Updated

You will see

C)

1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (2009) No Order

The Mojo Collection and woxy.com's 500 songs are other examples where updated lists have replaced previous ones. Pitchfork's list had more changes and is not updated every year or so, and therefore both lists are deemed eligible. Pitchfork is not unique at all, as I also have multiple lists from NME, Rolling Stone etc.

Thanks! I hope you aren't thinking that i was saying that Pitchfork was a unique case! It was just an example!

Re: 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: Revised & Updated

Just wanted to bump this, as a reminder to make sure it gets included in the albums update.

Re: 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: Revised & Updated

Hi,

Thanks for the update, these albums are really great.

I counted the list, but there are only 998 albums, everywhere I watch it on the net. Could you tell me why? Are there albums which are counted as 2?

Sorry for bothering you with such things, but I'm really interested in it.

This came up when the first edition was released back in 2006, and I managed to figure it out and post about it:
***************************
On another note: I've already communicated this to Henrik, but I figured anyone else who's downloaded the 1001 list from another site should know as well. Per a previous post, it turns out that the transcription at the Rocklist site is, in fact, three albums short. The three entries accidentally left out of the posted list are:

The Byrds, Younger Than Yesterday (1967)
James Taylor, Sweet Baby James (1970)
Tom Waits, Nighthawks at the Diner (1975)
*****************************

Hope this helps!

Re: 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: Revised & Updated

Hi,
Thanks, it helped. I just watched at sites which had the list on one page, and these lists were the same, with 998 entries.. Maybe these sites were referring to each other, or simply they hadn't corrected the list yet.
