3: They Might Be Giants - Flood
7: The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike
2: (pass due to having never heard D. Wilson album)

Re: Best Moderately Acclaimed Album: Round 3, Week 3

Division 3 : They might be Giants - Flood
Division 7 : Gorillaz - Demon Days
Division 6 : Sleater-Kinney - One Beat

I would probably prefer Dennis Wilson so Springsteen but have not listened to it yet.

Re: Best Moderately Acclaimed Album: Round 3, Week 3

Talking Heads - Speaking In Tongues
Gorillaz - Demon Days
Bruce Springsteen - The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle (quite close, they're both among my 280ish favorites, albeit near the end of the list)
Beck - Sea Change

Speaking in Tongues
Demon Days
Pacific Ocean Blue

None of these are close except for Sea Change and One Beat.

Re: Best Moderately Acclaimed Album: Round 3, Week 3

2 Talking Heads - Speaking In Tongues (1983, #1387)

I really like the song Particle Man, but TMBG in general kind of irritate me.

Division 7:

1 The Go Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike (2004,

I like them both, but Demon Days didn't really stick with me.

Division 2:

2 Bruce Springsteen - The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle

Easy vote for me, though I'd probably rather be voting for Clube de Esquina here.

Division 6:

4 Sleater-Kinney - One Beat (2002, #1260)

#84 all time vs #108 of all time. Why do my two favorite of the week have to be against each other?!

Re: Best Moderately Acclaimed Album: Round 3, Week 3

Div. 3: Speaking in Tongues. Pretty much anything by the Talking Heads beats anything by They Might Be Giants in my book.

Div. 7: Thunder, Lightning, Strike. Wow, this was an extremely close one, basically a coin flip.

Div. 2: Abstain

Div. 3: One Beat. Another very close matchup. I looked at my best albums of the '00s list and the rankings were 18-32

Re: Best Moderately Acclaimed Album: Round 3, Week 3

Have to get a vote in here

They Might Be Giants beats Talking Heads any day, and especially today, as I've been listening to that album a couple of times already, and I'm about to do so once more. Their self-titled album was even better, though. :)

I also vote for Dennis Wilson. At first I didn't like it very much. It was ok, but nothing more, so I voted for Cohen. But now I'd vote otherwise, and definitely in this match.

In the other two matches, I let the fans decide.

Re: Best Moderately Acclaimed Album: Round 3, Week 3

Speaking in Tongues
Thunder Lightning Strike
Pacific Ocean Blue
One Beat -Sea Change could be the best produced album ever, but One Beat still wins.

Re: Best Moderately Acclaimed Album: Round 3, Week 3

One more day to vote.

Two of the matchups are probably already won, but two are separated by two votes or less and could easily go either way.

Re: Best Moderately Acclaimed Album: Round 3, Week 3

K, so...

2 Talking Heads - Speaking in Tongues 12 def
11 They Might Be Giants - Flood 4

1 The Go Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike 8 def
4 Gorillaz - Demon Days 7

I really thought Demon Days would win this. But still, no number one seeds have lost except for Magical Mystery Tour the first week.

3 Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue 7 def
2 Bruce Springsteen - The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle 5

Probably the biggest upset of the third round so far.

1 Beck - Sea Change 10 def
4 Sleater-Kinney - One Beat 5

Beck stays alive.
