Re: Daily Mail (UK) EOD: Top 50 Albums Of The Noughties

A typically terrible list from a terrible newspaper.

Just 21...

of this list's top 50 is not in the current AM top 3,000- and 7 are bubbling under. Which leaves 14 that have no current presence on AM. I think there have been worse lists, just going by that.

Plus, a few albums were well-recieved, even though they're not on the AM site (i.e. Alicia Keys, Estelle, Joss Stone)

The albums not in the current top 3,000:

ALICIA KEYS: The Diary Of Alicia Keys)
ADELE: 19 (I though this would be- maybe soon?)
DESTINY'S CHILD: Survivor
CHRISTINA AGUILERA: Back To Basics
GIRLS ALOUD: Tangled Up
SNOW PATROL: Final Straw (Bubbling Under)
TAKE THAT: Beautiful World
THE BLACK EYED PEAS: Elephunk
NE-YO: Year Of The Gentleman
KEANE: Hopes And Fears (Bubbling Under)
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE: Justified (Bubbling Under)
RIHANNA: Good Girl Gone Bad
MUSE: Black Holes & Revelations (Bubbling Under)
THE KILLERS: Sam's Town (Bubbling Under)
MIKA: Life In Cartoon Motion
MARK RONSON: Version
PAOLO NUTINI: Sunny Side Up
KYLIE: Fever (Bubbling Under)
JOSS STONE: The Soul Sessions
ESTELLE: Shine
THE KOOKS: Inside In / Inside Out (Bubbling Under)

Re: Just 21...

I don't see anything that tells me that it's a list by multiple critics.

I Looked Into It...and

you would be correct- on the main page, it even says "our critic's..." If it didn't say that and the writer had phrased it as "our picks," would be a different story.

BTW- Henrik, are you still using the same e-mail you have been? I sent a message earlier in the week, not sure if you received it.

Re: Daily Mail (UK) EOD: Top 50 Albums Of The Noughties

This list seems focused on albums with a few strong singles with no regard to consistency.

Hot Fuss being the biggest example. A few great songs, but the rest is filler.

Re: Daily Mail (UK) EOD: Top 50 Albums Of The Noughties

Terrible list. I appreciate that it's trying to celebrate pop, but it chooses pretty bad albums in many cases.

JR, I will get back to you soon!

A list by and for people who do not actually like music.
