OK...

49 of the 50 albums from the top 50 list are in this initial list- except "Once: Music From the Motion Picture." At first I thought "O Brother..." wasn't here, but it was listed undrr "O." "Once," however, is not. Perhaps it got left out by Loretta Lynn's duplicate listing, who knows.

And here is the link, which I neglected to post earlier9vr3:

Re: Paste magazine, EOD List: Nominees For Albums of the Decade

Didn't Paste already release a list of the 50 best albums of the decade?
Yes. I was going to say eligible, but I guess that makes it ineligible.

Or, the additional 219 albums (assuming that the 50 albums are all in here) could perhaps be regarded as their 51-269 favorite albums. What do you think? (Harold, if you like this idea, they should have place 160 in the spreadsheet.)

I'd be willing to add the rest of the albums if you think the expanded list is eligible. If they went to the trouble of compiling it, it carries some weight. I don't think I'll get to it right away, though.

Re: Paste magazine, EOD List: Nominees For Albums of the Decade

Here's another unordered list from rocksbackpages. Apparently, they sent this list out to users and then asked for recommendations for albums they may have missed. I don't know how this will be treated- if they'll eventually present an ordered list including the user-submitted albums or not, but I think this unranked list will at least be eligible.

Moonbeam, I agree that thé unranked list could be used as it is, but I think they sent the list to their contributors (not readers), so maybe we could actually use the final list instead.

Thanks, Henrik! I admit that I feel a bit guilty finding all of these lists and having you assess their eligibility, and you always come through promptly and courteously. Thanks for that.

Re: Paste magazine, EOD List: Nominees For Albums of the Decade

Didn't Paste already release their EOD list? I remember it being posted on the forum, with Illinois as #1.

Yes...

as noted, this is a list of albums Paste compiled (that staff thought to be the best), asking readers to vote on the best albums from the list. What would happen is, the top 50 Paste published would get the 1-50 rankings, and then these would get an unranked citation (if included).
