I agree with Michael that those five are likely the albums that have multiple #1 votes. I think the triple is London Calling though. I wouldn't be shocked if London Calling placed third right behind OK Computer and Revolver. As for the 28/30 people's champion album, I have to guess the VU&N.

It's hard to choose is it better to vote albums which will have many high votes for others (and threaten the positions of my very favourites) or to vote albums that won't appear in any other list. I'm talking about albums at #180-#230. I'm definetely going to vote my favourite albums but it's impsossible to say is #200 better than #201 but the effect of #200 is actually huge.

And I'd be glad to put comments in, but I would need more time. I know people are eager for lists, lists, and more lists, but I personally think that a best of all time list with commentary needs a little more than a single month to compile. This ain't the best songs or albums of 1978.

How will this be presented?

I would vote for presenting the list in smaller installments. Even though I didn't submit comments, I think it would be neat to have time to offer reflections on each entry. Any album that makes the top 200 cut of all time is probably personally important to some AMer and I'd like to hear what they have to say.

But I'm a patient person, so maybe people want it all at once, which is fine :)

Beware before sending your list that no album shows twice. It happenned it 3 or 4 lists i received !

I was glad that France played Ireland because I thought, THIS is gonna be a BIG match ! Time to see if that French team's got balls or not.

I have a lot of friends who love music but couldn't make a list.

But I guess it is a funny exercise. The secret is that you don't have to take it too seriously; the more seriously you take it, the harder it gets to make a list. It's like a game.

For instance it is very hard for me to tell which is my favorite album because in fact I have TWO favorite albums. so for that list i just took the one who fiited best my mood at the time. And after all it's just a game and there is just 9 points of difference between 1 and 2, so who cares ?

And the more you go down in the list, the lesser the difference gets...

Too bad because a little more metal in the top 3000 would have been cool.

Friends -

I'm making a brief pop-in to let you know that I just sent my list to nicolas.

I am very sorry for my absence from the boards for the past number of months. Work and family has caught up to me. I couldn't think about music, listen to music, or make posts about music at the same level I had before. At some point, all the games that got me involved in the forum in the first place (bracketology, hall of fame, etc.) began to feel like a chore. That's when I decided that a sabbatical of sorts would do me some good.

Obviously, though, I have kept a quarter eye on the proceedings. I couldn't let the poll go by without my input. Who else is going to prop up my #1 (same as two years ago, although I have a number of new entries and chagning of order)? Sorry I didn't add comments this time, for the same reason that I have stopped posting. However, the itch is coming back to get involved again. I'm not coming back straight away, but will eventually. Maybe I'll even post that final multi-hook masterpiece, although I am sure that the wait at this point is not worth the payoff.
